About The African Youth

My name is Tawanda Moyo, I live in The Republic of Zimbabwe.

Here I write, at least twice a week, about Africa’s youth, politics, football and other ramblings of a wandering young man searching for the answers to life’s questions.

I am a student of Engineering, Philosophy and Politics. I am also a son, a brother, an uncle, a youth activist, a Christian and an avid supporter of Manchester United.

This blog is not focused on Robert Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai, political violence, starving Zimbabweans, self-imposed exile in ‘the diaspora’ or any other over-used term associated with Zimbabweans and Africa in general.

This is an African Youth telling his own story, in the hope of doing away with the stereotypes attached to our lives.

I hate people who, in Chimamanda Adichie’s words, attempt to define others using ‘a single story. And I hate it when Manchester United lose.

I love books, knowledge and learning, which is why I set up this blog: to learn from people of various backgrounds, cultures, ethnicity and religions.

Please drop a comment with your opinion or interact with me on Facebook or Twitter.

Or email me at moyotawanda@gmail.com.

Hope to learn from you all

Tawanda
